Halle Bailey’s Twisted Side Ponytail at the Final 'Little Mermaid' Premiere Is a Work of Art — See Photos

On May 26, the live-action version of The Little Mermaid premieres, and on Wednesday, May 24, Halle Bailey finished her press tour. With her last look, she decided to go out with a bang and bless us with the most intricately woven side ponytail.

Our live-action Ariel wore the ponytail with a stunning embellished baby blue gown for the Australia premiere on May 22. She took me back to elementary school days with this locs ponytail piled high on her head. Her go-to hairstylist Tinisha Meeks truly worked her magic.

It's hard to tell what exactly Meeks did, but you can see that the locs were twisted and wrapped around themselves at various points. It also looks as if Meeks formed Bailey's locs into several loops that were pinned together at the side of her head. At the top of the gravity-defying ponytail, her hair looked like it was twisted into a tight bun and you can see curly tendrils peeking out from the loops. The loose ends of the ponytail cascaded all the way to Bailey's waist.

Bailey paired her artful hair with shimmery silver eye makeup that complemented her dress (clearly a celebrity trend this week: Sydney Sweeney also had a matchy-matchy moment on Tuesday). Bailey's lids and lower lash line glimmered with metallic eye shadows that looked bluish from some angles and darker matte shadows were buffed onto the outer corners to add dimension and drama. Pink blush brightened the apples of her cheeks and it looked like a combination of brown lip liner and tan gloss was on her lips.

It's sad that the press tour for The Little Mermaid is officially coming to an end and we won't be able to admire more of Bailey's stunning premiere looks. But at least we got to marvel at this ponytail work of art.
